The hot tub is 85 inches diameter and 28 inches deep. You’ll see it advertised as a 6-person hot tub, which is how many adults can sit in it close together. But in our opinion, if you think of it as a roomy hot tub for 4 people, you’ll be delighted at the space it provides. 

This hot tub is built by the Intex company with their super-sturdy Fiber-Tech construction. This means there are vertical panels in the hot tub walls, made of a mesh of pvc fibers. These panels give the walls their strength but also help keep the hot tub comfortable to lean back against. The 3-ply skin which covers the hot tub is both rip-proof and puncture-proof, so with good care this hot tub will last for years.

A special feature of the Intex 85 inch PureSpa which we like is the built-in hard water treatment system. This makes the hot tub excellent if you live in a hard water area.  

The system creates an electro-magnetic field that agitates the calcium and minerals that are found in hard water. This turns them into crystals, which are suspended in the water.  A built-in filter cartridge, which is included in the portable spa set, filters out these minerals, and prevents them from damaging the motor and pipes of your hot tub. It also means the water in your spa is soft and gentle on your skin!

Massage System

There are 140 bubble jets that make up the powerful massage system, ativated by a digital control panel. This control panel sits on the side of the hot tub and also allows you to control everything without having to get out of the water. So at the touch of a button, simply by reaching out your hand, you can switch the massage system on and off, choose the exact temperature of your water, from 68F to 104F, and turn the water filter system on to keep the water sparkly clean.

How To Set Up The Intex 85in PureSpa 

The Intex 85in PureSpa is extremely easy to set up and doesn’t require any special tools or expertise.  It will take you about 20 minutes to unpack it, lay it out and inflate it, using the digital air pump.  

First off, select where you want to site your hot tub, making sure it’s free from sharp objects, and then place down the ground mat. Spread out the inflatable hot tub, attach the digital air pump, and switch it on. 

The Intex 85in PureSpa has grab handles on the side, which means you can inflate the hot tub in one place and then carry it into position once it’s inflated. It will take at least two of you to carry such a big object though – not because it’s that heavy, but because of its size. 

Once the hot tub is in place, it will take about an hour to fill with water.  You should then plan on it taking about 24 hours to heat to the maximum of 104F.  You might want to do what some owners do, and that is fill your hot tub with hot water from your faucet, so it is ready to use almost at once.

Relaxing In Your Intex 85in PureSpa 

As you can see, you get everything you need to enjoy your hot tub.  So when the water is at your preferred temperature, your inflatable hot tub is ready to use.  Take off the cover, slide into the tub, switch on the Bubble Massage System, and lean back against the sides. 

Keep in mind that using the massage system cools the temperature of the water a little.  So when this happens, switch on the heater for 10 minutes to give the water a boost, and it will soon reheat.

Also, when you are not using your portable hot tub, always put the insulated cover on, to keep the heat in and the water clean.
