Completion of an application form, fingerprints and payment are all required to obtain the criminal records.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI suggests visiting the local United States Post Office to obtain the required fingerprints that will be sent to the FBI. More detailed information is available when the process is started.<\/p>\n<p>The process for an electronic request should only take a few weeks, but can be longer in some cases. This may be done for a variety of reasons such as the person being a juvenile at the time or the charges were brought by mistake, such as mistaken identity.<\/li>\n<li><b>RAP Sheet \u2013 <\/b>RAP sheets stands for \u201cRecord of Arrests and Prosecutions,\u201d this is commonly used interchangeably with criminal record, or criminal history information.<\/li>\n<li><b>Criminal Record \u2013 <\/b>A criminal record is a document that contains information for any law enforcement related records a person has.
