How long do Beachcomber Hot Tubs last?
Beachcomber hot tubs are designed to last 15-20 years. However, with Beachcomber’s service complaints, finding a qualified local repair person can better help ensure the longevity of the hot tub.
Like all hot tubs, it is the equipment that often fails first.
The acrylic shell is coated with up to 10 layers of fiberglass to give it extra strength and rigidity, with each coat being applied by hand and then sanded down. The shell is then cured in a special kiln to control the moisture content and humidity in much the same way as a boat is made.
This is why the Beachcomber is more expensive than most hot tubs of a similar size and specification.

What are some common Beachcomber hot tub problems?
The most frequent complaints about Beachcomber hot tubs are issues with leaks inside the insulation & equipment malfunction. Also, the side skirts of their hot tubs are not removable, so if you need access to anything inside the sealed sides, you have to call Beachcomber or the dealer to come and fix it.
So just having to call the company to get to the underside of your hot tub is a drag.
I’ve fixed small leaks myself many times with parts costing just a couple of bucks. And it would be a real drag to have to pay for a service call every time that happened.
As with any hot tub, there are plenty of parts that can go wrong – sensor problems, a faulty circulation pump, or a defective heating element can be costly to put right, and these are not DIY jobs.
The HYBRID4 series has a problem in this respect.
With that said, other than pipework and wiring, there isn’t much in there to go wrong as the pump and heater are concealed inside the safety step.
With those key components outside the tub, you cannot reclaim the heat, and this makes the HYBRID4 prone to frost damage if there is a power outage in the depths of winter—something you may want to think about if you live in a place that has extreme weather.
The LEEP series is more conventional, with the equipment located inside the hot tub cabinet behind an access door, so everything is easy to get at.
