IndicaOnline helps users to enter and manage inventory, track sales metrics and generate invoices. Users can also work remotely using a mobile device. Staff roles and permissions can be configured as needed, and the solution also supports multiple locations.

IndicaOnline supports payments via cash, debit and credit cards. Supported hardware components include receipt printers, barcode scanners, scales and cash drawers. The solution is compatible with iPads but can also be accessed from desktop computers and other mobile devices. Additionally, IndicaOnline is HIPAA compliant and stores data online with 256-bit grade SSL encryption.

IndicaOnline offers services on a monthly subscription basis that includes support via phone and email.


We have been struggling with this software for over a year. It consistently drops items and although their advertising states they support Weedmaps and your website integration, that is a lie. They will kick out a WordPress API key to use as a plugin but that hasn’t worked on our website for about a year (no kidding.) When you complain, they say they don’t support (or even walk you through! the API key in the plug in. OK. I figured that out but it still doesn’t work (ex: we haven’t sold clones since spring but can’t get rid of them on our online menu (our website is just a shell that leads customers to the Indica POS inventory.Still, it is wrong.) They don’t answer questions about WooCommerce because they use their own commerce site, Potify, which DOESN’T INTEGRATE IN TO WORDPRESS and they say Potify doesn’t integrate into our website at all. So who cares about Potify? This is just greedy. Our customers don’t go to Potify, they go to our website. This company is way behind other companies. Recommendation: don’t waste your time with Indica Online unless you want headaches and broken websites. Note: Indica Online drops items. I have sent over frequent screenshots of outright errors and they do nothing.


I like the potify integration but it’s not easy to make edits to potify when you cant login. I love the reports and how everything works.


I would like for the weedmaps integration to be smoother and that we could get edit potify easier. Some of the delivery orders could use more info like phone numbers and other comments to show up to be clearer too.

I have not used all the various features ( regarding CA excise taxes) until we obtain licensing in CA


The RFID scn works (kind of) well. If it doesn’t pick up a tag, a manual count ensures there is no product loss. However, there is no way to account for a manual count in the Audit. The audit only allows you to adjust expected inventory numbers. If I have 10 of “X”, and only 8 scan with the RFID, the system flags a discrepancy of 2. I’m actually physically COUNTING 10, but in order to complete the audit, I have to “adjust” the 10 expected down to 8…even though in reality I have 10. It’s a PITA. And of course, there is no recourse for proof of this audit. No reports to run. No paper product to print out…just trust the system.

I wish we can use their POS on Android tablets.

What do you like best?

I really like the automated compliance reporting with Metrc. The Weedmaps and Leafly integrations are also nice but I think the best part is they offer a free e-commerce platform for online ordering. This has been extremely helpful during Covid as we’ve seen a big increase in online orders for curbside pickup and delivery.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our main issue was being able to fulfill online orders. Our previous system made us do double entry, but IndicaOnline has been seamless so far. The delivery functionality is unrivaled and we’ve saved a ton by getting rid of Onfleet.

Also we’ve had minimal issues with compliance reporting since implementing IndicaOnline. That is huge for us and give us peace of mind that we’re in compliance.

Indica Online Integration With Weedmaps

Apart from the integration with Potify, it is possible now to integrate with Weedmaps since 2021.

With this synchronized solution, updates are seamlessly transmitted from each dispensary’s IndicaOnline account to the linked Weedmaps profile.

With this synchronization, the business owner only has to maintain the data in the Indica Online environment and it will be also updated in Weedmaps.

Before this, an account has to be created in Weedmaps too.

Indica Online Integration With Potify

Before you can have your account with Potify and connect Indica Online with Potify, you must submit them a copy of your CBL to the support team via mail. The support team will create a ticket and after they acknowledge your business license your integration can go forward.

Potify integration is very convenient because you will be showcasing your shop menu, business and delivery hours, your location as well as your delivery zones. However, it is a marketplace where your products will be displayed to prospective customers along with the ones of your direct competitors.

Potify is the platform of Indica Online for both storefront and delivery to IndicaOnline accounts. It is really seamlessly integrated with IndicaOnline and does not require the installation of any plug-ins. Your whole inventory with pricing will be in sync with your Potify online store.

There is a couple of settings you need to toggle within your IndicaOnline account before receiving first orders from your customers on Potify.

 1. If you would like your customers to enjoy the pleasure of a special loyalty program, you can enable the Potify Loyalty Program for them to get Potify credits to use at checkout. To set this up on your computer:

  • Navigate to the Config tab on the left-hand side of the screen, click Offices & Storages on top of the Config menu and select the Office you want to edit.
  • Go to Marketplace Settings, click the Loyalty Program tab and hit the Enable The Program button. 
  • Set a percentage that your customers will receive as cashback in the Enable the Program pop-up and submit the request to IndicaOnline for approval. It takes up to 24 hours for the request to be approved.

Once you have enabled the Loyalty Program, a banner will be displayed on your Potify store. It will inform your customers of the amount of cashback they will be rewarded with each time they place an order with your dispensary. Your customers will also be able to apply for their earned Potify credits while completing the orders.

If you disable the Loyalty Program, your customers will not be able to see an option to apply their Potify credits in the cart.

2. As your request has been approved, the Potify Orders tab will appear. 

  • Switch the Accept Orders toggle button to YES for your customers to be able to add products to the cart. Otherwise, your Potify store will simply show your inventory and deals, but the Add to Cart button will not be available for your customers. Select your Payment Methods, fill out the courier phone number under Order Notifications and Customer Support number, if required.

Currently, you are only notified after a new order has been placed on Potify. You are not notified if the order status has been changed.

  • Make sure to switch the Allow Pickup and Allow Delivery toggle buttons to YES depending on your business type. You can further customize your Potify online store page by adding your pickup and delivery shipping methods. 

Under the General Info tab you may also want to upload your logo to show on your Potify page. Make sure to use the file which size is 432 pixels x 432 pixels and save the changes by pressing the Save button. (If the image is still not displaying, reformat the file from PNG to JPEG or vice versa.)

3. And finally, in the product profile of your IndicaOnline account, switch the Publish on Potify toggle button to YES to have the item displayed on your Potify online webstore.

Your customers will need to create a Potify account, verify their phone number and upload their ID to verify their age and start shopping. Medical patients will also need to upload their recommendations. Each of your customers will get a $5 credit after verifying their email addresses. $10 referral credits are up for grabs both for referrers and referrals once a referral completes their first order.

Your customers will be able to place pick-up as well as delivery orders directly from your Potify website.

You have an option to create Potify accounts for your existing patients in the IndicaOnline account. To do so, navigate to the patient profile and, under the Actions tab, choose Create Potify Account.

We have compared Fattmerchant vs Square, thinking that they were very similar POS and payment processors, but we found many differences and we were surprised by these findings.

Complex industries that handle their own inventory and 3PL organizations have granular requirements about batch recalls, warehouse management and inventory reconciliation. They need handheld inventory scanners that connect in real time with their point of sales systems and ERPs. We review them here and test them connecting to a Zebra printer. Beautiful!

We have reviewed several POS providers. The most interesting according to their industry vertical are: OVVI POS, NCR Counterpoint, Alexandria POS Maid, Verifone Ruby 2 POS, Mynt POS, Indica Online, Reverse, Micros, 1st Pay, Simphony, and Appetize.

There is a type of POS that the majority of readers here do not seem to like. I refer to the POS Pin Pad type. I understand the readers that reject them, but we can recommend it for some type of businesses, as you will read.

Each industry vertical requires a different type of POS, so we cannot analyze them all together in one single group. Therefore, we have researched in different verticals to define which are the POS systems that we can recommend for each industry and why: Wholesale POS, POS for kiosks, fast foods, POS for restaurants and which of them work well in iPads because some work very bad in mobile systems in my opinion, gas stations, supermarkets, dispensaries, convenience stores, dry cleaning industries, furniture, liquor stores, and bike shops.

What about cash registers? We have reviewed some and we have found good and bad products: cash registers for gas stations, small businesses in general, and restaurants.

We reviewed some specific type of point of sale systems that determine the price according to the weight, called POS scales.

We have studied barcode and label printers, as label printing is a legal requirement in some industries

Restaurants, fast foods, delis and food trucks, require a separate kitchen printer integrated with the POS with a separate hardware unit. We have reviewed them here.

We do not usually review printers for POS, we simply dedicate ourselves to review a complete POS system with its hardware. However, we had so much criticism and discussions around printers for Square, that I have decided to investigate further here.
